Bud Cauley Called His First PGA Tour Win 'Perfect Timing'

Bud Cauley is happy with the timing of his first win.
Cauley needed 239 starts to finally achieve his breakthrough win. But even before this, the golfer had some outstanding results, finishing as runner-up and in third place in numerous events. Cauley remarked that it was worth the wait for his first triumph because he had his family by his side for this tournament.
During the post-tournament press conference, the golfer explained, "Yeah, like you mentioned, so many events without getting a win, but with everything that our family went through when I was out, and then to have my first win when everyone's here, just it kind of seems like perfect timing."

Bud Cauley's elder son jumped into his arms after the win.

The golfer stated, "I hit that putt up there to a few inches, and I kind of stood on the front of the green, and I looked over and saw Kristi, Cooper, and Miles standing there, and I started to tear up. I tried to look down."

Bud Cauley cleared his eyes before making the final putt.
"I had a short putt, but I was trying and couldn't see, and so I thought I needed to clear my eyes before I could go up there and tap in," Cauley added.
