Michael Block is now gearing up to compete in his first major golf tournament on the PGA Senior Tour. On June 15, the golfer became age-eligible for the circuit, and after turning 50, he won the qualification event for the 2026 US Seniors Open. Block won the qualifiers on his birthday and earned the victory in a 3-for-2 playoff.

The US Seniors Open is one of the biggest tournaments on the Seniors Tour, and it is all set to take place on July 2 at the Scioto Country Club in Ohio. The event will feature 156 golfers competing for a total prize purse of $4 million.

While Block moved quickly to the Seniors Tour after turning 50, he made it known earlier this season that he still intends to play on the PGA Tour. He missed the cut at the 2026 PGA Championship, although after round two, he stated that this would not be his final appearance in that golf major.

The golfer indicated that he has the desire to compete in one or five more PGA Championships by qualifying for them. According to the Golf Channel, Block stated, "It's really cool. It's kind of fun. If I'm going to be honest. I have to be honest with you. There's no way on God’s green earth this is my last one. No chance. I will definitely qualify for one more, if not five more."
